The world's leading Intel microprocessor chip maker yesterday (September 6) officially introduced the new quad-core processor chip series exclusively for servers.

Intel claims that the Xeon 7300 quad-core quad-core chips have a power-saving per watt power consumption that is two to three times higher than the brand's dual-core chip generation.

Thus, Intel is one step ahead of its direct competitor AMD. It is expected that next week it will launch quad-core chip products for Barcelona servers.

Time passed Intel continuously to lose market share to AMD. But analysts believe that aggressive moves, constantly launched before high-end products, have helped Intel regain some of what has been lost.

Dell, HP, IBM, Unisys and a number of other server manufacturers have announced the use of Intel chips in upcoming products.

The price of the Xeon 7300 quad-core chip ranges from about 856 USD to 2,301 USD per chip if purchased with a quantity of 1,000 products.
