It has four times the speed of sound

Airbus has unveiled a non-polluting airplane design that could shorten the flight time from London to Tokyo to 2 hours 30 minutes.

According to the Daily Mail , Airbus's Zero Emission Hypersonic Transportation (ZEHST) aircraft can be manufactured and commercially available within 10 years. The ZEHST is designed to be four times the speed of sound , reducing the time it takes to fly from London to Tokyo from 11 hours 20 minutes today to 2 hours 30 minutes.

With the ZEHST super helicopter, it takes just over an hour to fly from London to New York. Meanwhile, flights from London to Sydney, which will take about 24 hours, will be reduced to about 3 hours and 30 minutes by flying this supersonic aircraft.

" I think this is a model of the future ," Jean Botti, a member of the European Space Agency, said about the ZEHST model ahead of the Paris show.

While flying at a height of 32 kilometers above sea level, the ZEHST supersonic aircraft will use oxygen and hydrogen. So, the emissions of this model are just water vapor. Meanwhile, ZEHST's take-off engine will use biofuels made from algae.

' ZEHST can fly at the height of a spacecraft . Therefore, it is not a conventional aircraft, but it is not a missile. ZEHST is a rocket aircraft. At the same altitude, but using mostly hydrogen and oxygen, the model does not pollute the environment , "Botti said.

The exterior of the ZEHST looks similar to the Concorde supersonic aircraft, but has higher levels of safety and speed. ZEHST is designed to fly at altitude in the atmosphere. Thus, it encountered little supersonic explosions like the previous Concorde model.
