Korea: Microsoft announced two new versions of Windows

Microsoft has announced that it will launch two new versions of Windows in Korea on August 24 to comply with the antitrust regulations being applied to the world's largest software company.
Earlier this year, the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) fined Microsoft $ 34 million and ordered the company to issue two separate versions of Windows. KFTC said that Microsoft took advantage of its position to attach certain software to the Windows operating system.
According to an unnamed Microsoft official, to comply with the ruling, the company will announce two new versions of Windows. One of these two operating systems will not have Windows Media Player and Windows Messenger software; and the other operating system will have links to websites that allow customers to download competing software with Microsoft.
The move comes after the month before the Seoul court rejected Microsoft's request to allow the company more time to prepare the necessary appeal procedures.
Microsoft is appealing the KFTC decision to the Korean Supreme Court. At the same time, Microsoft is also facing similar lawsuits in Europe.
