On September 8 in Hanoi, the Start-up Contest with Israel 2014 officially kicked off, to support Vietnamese young entrepreneurs to start their businesses and create business opportunities, learn from start-up experiences from the 'start-up country karma 'Israel.
First introduced in Vietnam, the competition was organized by the Department of Market and Enterprise Development Science and Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology with the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam and the Research Center. Business and Business Support (BSA).
The object of the competition is the start-up science and technology companies in Vietnam operating in four areas including web, mobile, agriculture, and life sciences. The award for representatives of the four winning teams in each field is a field trip to start up in Israel in December 2014.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung emphasized: "Promoting the development of start-up businesses based on technology is an important solution to realize the item. developing 3,000 science and technology enterprises by 2015 of Vietnam ".

Deputy Minister Tran Van Tung said that according to the experience of many countries including Israel, the development of start-up businesses based on technology is very important on the path to success for start-up and copper enterprises. The start-up time is also a pioneer in turning research results into goods circulating in the market.
According to Israeli State Ambassador to Vietnam, Ms. Meirav Eilon Shahar, the idea of organizing this competition stems from the desire to share the experiences of Israeli entrepreneurship ecosystem with Vietnamese companies.
Ms. Shahar said that the characteristic of Israeli entrepreneurship ecosystem is a big investment in development research. From a country with many disadvantages in area, population, lack of water and scarcity of natural resources, Israel has turned difficulties into advantages when focusing heavily on research and development, with total investment occupied. 4.3% of GDP in 2013 for this sector, of which 80% is spent on business development research.
Israeli Ambassador added, with its accumulated practical experience, Israel will select the most suitable start-up models for businesses in Vietnam, and wish to create links between them. Young Vietnamese enterprises and building a bridge between them and Israeli businesses through this competition.
Participants are between the ages of 20 and 40, ensuring that there is no intellectual property dispute over the product. The profile includes information about the company and detailed business strategy and a video of no more than 2-3 minutes in length (in English) to introduce yourself and convince the judges, including the experts from the Ministry of Science and Technology as well as representatives of BSA and the Israeli Embassy.
The top criteria of the competition are innovation, teamwork efficiency, trade and creativity. After the qualifying round, the eight best teams will enter the final round of interviews in November and announce four winning teams.
