Thousands of people happened to witness this phenomenon, many of whom quickly shot videos and posted them on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.

BBC quoted police sources as saying they had received a lot of calls informing about a "orange spot" and "brilliance" in the sky in northern England and Scotland around 21:40 on 3-3 international time ( 4h40 am 4-3 hrs VN), many people expressed concern that it was a plane crash.
