An American rat rat expert tried to use the world's most spicy chilli to repel rodents but failed badly.

Shawn Woods, an American pest control expert, placed chopped Carolina Reaper chilli in a mousetrap and placed it in the yard to check whether the world's hottest chilli could repel the rodent. In the video posted on YouTube on November 13, he was very surprised when he found that the mice did not mind eating the kind of hot and spicy chili.

The camcorder hidden in a closed corner recorded the mice and rats in the trap, seemingly unaffected by the chilliness of chili."Only one chill is enough for a mature man to tear up. But mice and rats are not affected at all , " Woods said.

The hottest peppers in the world do not "mingle" with mice.

There was a spicy level of 2.2 million SHU on Scoville ladder, setting the world's most hot pepper record. This chilli is 850 times more spicy than jalapeno, the popular chili variety in Mexico with a spicy level of 2,500 SHU.

Woods looks at some Carolina Reaper peppers at home to test them as a chasing weapon. Before experimenting with mice, Woods ate a chili."My throat caught fire and my face was numb. From the moment I swallowed a chili in my stomach, you would suffer the whole body," Woods said. Experts who kill rats must lie on the chair because of the pain and it takes several days to recover.

Woods lined two piles of cereal and sunflower seeds as bait on a wooden board in the yard and mixed with chopped Carolina Reaper peppers. He also carefully rubbed the chilli around it to force the rats to crawl through the spicy chili juice if they wanted to approach food . "I don't think they will eat sunflower seeds mixed with chili, but they can try to get close. To do that, they will have to cross the fire circle ," Woods said.

Woods left the trap in the yard overnight and recorded the results with the camera. The mice and rats did not hesitate to crawl through the chili water and eat all the food. Even, the three rats climbed up the plank of bait. According to Woods, this experiment shows just how difficult it is to chase mice in the home."Even the world's hottest peppers cannot force them away," Woods admitted.
