New Zealand commemorates the star sheep

New Zealanders are expressing mourn for the departure of the famous Shrek sheep and are loved by the islanders.

Shrek's boss, John Perriam, said the famous sheep died last weekend due to aging. Shrek has been famous since 2004 after 6 years hiding in caves in the southern island of New Zeland to avoid a professional hunting hunter.

This 16-year-old sheep has a respectable biography. He had met New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark, became a character in children's books and participated in many charity programs.

" Shrek has an incredible personality. He loves children and is very nice to the elderly in nursing homes, " said the owner of the sheep proudly.

According to the BBC , Shrek's feathers are enough to sew 20 jackets for men and have been auctioned off during children's charity sessions in 2004.

Cure Kids, Josie Spillane, said that over the past few years Shrek has donated more than $ 150,000 to a charity fund to support research on dangerous diseases.

" This is the departure of a symbol for the Kiwi country even though it is just a sheep, " she said of Shrek's departure.

The Shrek Sheep Memorial is held at the Good Shepherd Church in Tekapo, New Zealand. The owner, Perriam, said he planned to sculpt the image of this sheep to put in town and say what Shrek has done will remain in the hearts of New Zealanders.
