Poor children need more attention

Dr. Michal Al-Yagon and colleagues from Tel Aviv University (Israel) studied 181 dysphoric adolescents and 188 normal teenagers. The subjects are from 15 to 17 years old.

The research team asked the audience to complete the questionnaire to indicate how close they are to their parents and teachers. Subjects also reported abandonment, loneliness, positive and negative emotions, and behavioral problems.

The research team found that the subjects with difficulty learning again are those who have less friendly relationships with important adults in life (such as parents, teachers), compared to those who do not have problems. Difficult to learn.

That bad relationship directly affected the social emotional state of the subject.

In the hard-to-learn group, the more the object is concerned by the parents and the care of the teacher, the less negative and lonely feelings and behavioral problems.

Research helps develop a method to support people who have difficulty learning to improve their condition. The role of parents and teachers is particularly important in this process, according to Dr. Al-Yagon.

The study is published in the Journal of Youth and Adolescence.
