Princess cobra breeds in artificial environments

Thinh Hung Solid Agriculture and Livestock Processing Cooperative, Vinh Tuong District, Vinh Phuc Province, in collaboration with the Institute of Biotechnology - Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, successfully researched the reproduction of the snake cobra in the lips. artificial school.

The research has found out the law of reproduction and hatching and breeding process of the first winter cobras of the whole country, helping snake breeders take initiative in seed sources, avoiding the illegal exploitation of the cobra snake. in nature.

Dr. Ngo Thi Kim, Institute of Biotechnology, said the cobra cobra (also known as cobra, tiger forest) lives in the natural environment commonly found in the midlands and mountainous areas, rarely seen in the delta. , living in caves under a big tree or woody trunk in the forest.

With this behavior, from 2008-2009, the Institute of Biotechnology has collaborated with the Vinh Son Co-operative Farming and Processing Cooperative to study the type of cages, temperature, humidity, and related diets. to the growth and reproduction and the feeding behavior of the little cobra and especially the conditions for the young cobra to cross.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, owner of the research topic at Vinh Son Farming Livestock Cooperative, through practical application, Princess Cobra can reproduce and develop well in conditions of capturing temperature. in cages of 28-30 degrees Celsius, suitable humidity of 75-80%.

In February to the third lunar month every year, the leprechaun begins to function after hibernation, this time for the couple to let them familiarize themselves with the breeding facilities to facilitate mating.

After 2 months, the snake cobra begins to breed, can produce 20-40 eggs. Eggs are incubated in sand, moistened with water, maintained at a temperature of 28-30 degrees Celsius, humidity reaches 85-90%.

To date, 60 pairs of parents and cohorts are still healthy (of which 30 females and 30 males) have delivered 810 fruit qualified, hatching rate reached 80%, after the wintering period the survival rate reached nearly 70%.

Princess cobra is the world's largest poisonous snake, with an adult length of up to 5.7m, maximum weight up to 20-30kg. The reason for having the tiger tiger because its venom is very strong, can eat other venomous snakes.

King cobra is a very rare species, named in the red book of Vietnam and the world, belongs to the group of IB, so it is strictly protected by the state.
