The Russians succeeded in bringing the monkey to orbit and planning to resume this.

The plan to bring monkeys to Mars is part of a project called Mars-500. This is a joint project of Russia and the European Union in an effort to explore the red planet. To help scientists evaluate the astronaut's stamina during the expedition, six volunteers lived in a sealed metal chamber in Moscow for 120 days earlier this year.

'The purpose of the program was to bring people to Mars first. But because the flight to Mars lasted so long, it was difficult to protect astronauts from the effects of cosmic rays. So we mentioned replacing people with monkeys in that flight , 'Mikvabia said.

Scientists cannot determine the exact time needed to fly to Mars, but according to the European Space Agency, that time is about 520 days.

The Georgian Institute of Experimental and Experimental Therapies says they will put a robot on a spaceship to take care of the monkey.

'The robot will let the monkey eat and bathe him. Our mission is to train the monkey so that he knows how to coordinate with the robot , 'the Institute representative said.

The Telegraph said that although the robot will take care of the monkey during the flight to Mars, the decision of the Russian Space Institute may still face opposition from animal protection organizations.
