Security tools are available for Vista

Despite claims that Vista is the safest operating system among Windows versions, Microsoft still has to rely on security vendors to eliminate common cyber threats.

In addition, User Account Control in Vista can run less user-mode so that "malicious" code cannot take advantage of system administration rights - a configuration commonly found in Windows XP. Besides, Vista also has a web browsing function for parents; and IE7 has phishing filtering.

Symantec, McAfee, Trend Micro and many other security vendors will have antivirus products and other protection tools for Vista when the operating system comes out later this month. As for Microsoft, it will release an upgrade of Windows Live OneCare for Vista buyers.
