Source: CFF 4G mobile network or fourth generation mobile network has become the main topic in the speech of Gary Forsee, Sprint Nextel executive chairman, at the Wireless Leadership summit taking place today. through (June 27).
Mr. Gary Forsee said that the work related to the construction of 4G network is being actively deployed by Sprint Nextel. However, Gary Forsee did not disclose which technology to use for the 4G network, instead emphasizing the significant impact of this new generation mobile network on Sprint Nextel's business model.
" 4G will give us the advantages of performance and cost, expected to be 10 times higher than the current 3G network. And when you have this, there will be many other great opportunities. " for Gary Forsee.
Reportedly, Sprint has spent billions of dollars to build a 3G network based on the Evolution-Data Optimized technology platform (also known as EV-DO). Sprint only provided 3G services a year ago, and spent the end of 2005 and the first half of 2006 expanding its network.
With an average download speed of 400-700 Kbps, 3G networks are able to provide broadband that allows customers to surf the Web and download data anywhere from mobile phones. Currently, this service is only widely used for laptops, but there are already some mobile devices with the ability to download music, games and watch TV shows.
However, EV-DO technology is only the beginning of Sprint. The company is planning to use the 2.5GHz frequency to provide new 4G wireless services. Sprint Nextel is also experimenting with a number of 4G-related technologies, including WiMax, with support for maximum download speeds of 20Mbps.
