There have been quite a few articles written about USB storage devices (USB Flash Drive), I recently installed a lab by ghost from an existing image on a server in Lan, because the machines in this lab There is no CDRom and FDD so only USB can be used, I scoured the articles for this but did not see it. This is really simple, just download 2 tools: netboot54 and mkbt20 and follow these steps:

Picture 1 of Start the computer and log on to the network using a USB storage device
1. Use WinXP to create a bootable floppy disk by going to My Computer -> right-clicking on the floppy disk icon -> Format -> selecting Create Startup Disk
2. USB disk format in FAT format: go to My Computer -> right click on USB-> Format -> disk icon to select FAT format (do not select FAT32)
3. Extract downloaded mkbt20.zip into C: mkbt and netboot54.zip into C: NetBoot (optional)
4. Go to command line mode: Start -> Run -> type cmd -> Enter
5. Move the current directory to C: mkbt

Insert the floppy disk formatted above
Type the command: mkbt –ca: bootsect.bin
This command is used to copy boot sector of disk A into bootsect.bin file
Insert the USB flash disk formatted above
type the command: mkbt –x bootsect.bin g:
This command is used to create a USB flash boot sector from the bootsect.bin file created from the floppy disk.
6. Transfer current folder to C: NetBoot
Type makedisk command
Then copy the entire disk A to the USB Flash Disk disk

Now that you have a Flash Disk, you can boot and log into the Network (supporting most popular network cards).
