On November 7, Indian doctors said they had successfully operated for 4-arms 4-legged girls. Currently the baby's health condition is fine after the 27-hour surgery.
From Bangalore Hospital, Dr. Sharan Patil announced that the 30-person surgical team had successfully separated the baby's excess limbs, rearranged the internal organs and recreated the pelvic area. 'The surgery went smoothly beyond our expectations,' said Dr. Patil. '
The surgery begins at 7 am local time 6-11 am and ends at 10 am on November 7. To minimize the risk for the baby, the doctors worked restlessly throughout the night of November 6. Lakshm's parents will be allowed to visit their children this afternoon.
Patil said he was optimistic about his survival.

Baby Lakshmi Tatma before surgery
Lakshmi Tatma was stuck with a "parasitic" twin sister without a pelvic head. Doctors in Bangalore city said they would take turns performing an operation to separate Lakshmi's spine and kidney from the twin. They hope they will live until adolescence.
Dr. Patil said he went to the small village near the Nepalese border where she was living after hearing the news of this case and was "horrified to find that the girl was suffering from fever without constant medicine'.
