The medical doctor was awarded nearly VND 300 million for an international article

The IVF study by Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan and colleagues was published in the largest medical magazine in the world.

The Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has rewarded Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan , Deputy Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the principal author of the study on in vitro fertilization published in the medical journal The New England Journal. Of Medicine (NEJM) was nearly VND 300 million in early January.

The article by Dr. Lan and colleagues was published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

This is considered the highest award in the history of this school and the general level of universities in Vietnam. The author announces that he will donate all the bonuses to the fund for scientific activities of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Dr. Lan is the main author of the article "IVF transfer of Fresh or Frozen embryos in women without polycystic Ovaries" with index cited at 72,406. This is also the first article of Vietnamese obstetrics and gynecology on NEJM, which is considered the world medical " Bible ".

In addition to Lan, the research team also has authors: Dang Quang Vinh, Ho Manh Tuong, Huynh Gia Bao, Pham Duong Toan, Nguyen Khanh Linh (My Duc Hospital); Ha Tan Duc (Can Tho Central General Hospital); Prof. Robert Norman, GS Ben Mol (University of Adelaide, Australia).

The work was done in 2015 by 792 infertile women due to polycystic ovaries that are in vitro fertilization. After two years of research, they sent more than 200 pages of reports to NEJM. Through three rounds of appraisal, multiple additions and explanations, the study was later approved for publication on January 11.

Prof. Ben Mol highly appreciated the ability of Vietnamese experts to conduct research, contributing to bring practical benefits to patients as well as physicians in the field of IVF in the world. Many international experts were surprised when Vietnamese doctors could enroll in the world scientific research map.
