The raw images of the Red planet are sent back to Earth

The photos show the wild beauty of the Martian surface and also help executives find other places for the Curiosity to come and explore.

At first glance, they looked like a strange exhibition of hipster-style photos. In fact, they are a collection of 'raw' images taken from NASA's Curiosity self-propelled explorer ship on the surface of Mars.

While NASA normally publishes only magnificent pictures displaying colorful new images or surprisingly colorful panoramic images, the agency recently announced each image from a camera. One of the two Mastcam camera systems has a medium-resolution lens, while the other camera system has a high-resolution lens to study distant landscapes compared to the autonomous ship.

Curiosity sends data to the two current satellites orbiting Mars so that they will transmit data back to Earth but at a rate of only 128Kb, the speed is quite low in modern conditions. That explains why rudimentary black and white pictures are sent back.
