Specifically, Andrew McGovern - a doctor from Surrey University who conducted this study. Results showed that about 5% - 10% of cases in Europe and America are actually type 3c. McGovern said that type 3c diabetes can be very difficult to treat. The reason is because different from type 1 and 2, 3c occurs because the pancreas is destroyed by many causes: inflammation, cancer, pancreatic surgery .
