Tooth 'sensitive' - easily encountered disease, cure tiredness

No tooth decay and hard tooth hygiene but still feel painful, especially when touching toothpaste or sour substances.

No tooth decay and hard tooth hygiene but still feel painful, especially when touching toothpaste or sour substances.

This symptom is common with 50% of dental patients, mainly women in the age of 20-50 (concentrated in women 30-40 years).

In terms of structure, our teeth consist of two parts: the crown (visible part) and the root of the tooth (the part in the gum is not visible). The crowns are divided into many layers, including enamel, dentin, pulp, including blood vessels under the teeth and sensory nerves for teeth.

However, sharp pain is not entirely due to tooth decay or lack of oral hygiene.

The first cause of tooth sensitivity is loss of tooth enamel. Dr. Chiristophe Lequart, dental esthetician and editor-in-chief of the French oral health publications, explained that the dentin layer is fed with small bone grooves containing a solution, connecting the in and out of teeth. When enamel is broken, dentin will come into direct contact with substances in the food causing dilating or draining the dentin solution, causing toothache.

Teeth can lose enamel due to many reasons: due to the habit of brushing teeth horizontally with a hard brush, causing teeth to wear, losing protection. Or eating a lot of acidic foods can also cause small holes in the tooth's surface, completely destroying the protective enamel.

The second reason: the benefit is degenerate, not covering all the roots, so the dentin layer will have direct contact with the food, easy to damage the teeth, making the teeth become sensitive.

There are many ways to take care of sensitive teeth. Patients can use toothpaste for sensitive teeth. They work to fill holes in the dentin surface. The composition of this type of toothpaste often contains a lot of strontium chloride (SrCl 2 ) and potassium salts.

Patients can also use mineral-rich mouthwashes, to provide more minerals for dentin. In addition, you need to change your brushing style. Do not brush your teeth horizontally but you should brush your teeth in a way that benefits your teeth. This way helps not to damage the gums and teeth. These measures are quite effective in many cases. However, according to Dr. Lequart, if after two months of self-treatment without results, the patient should see a dentist.

To fill the tiny holes in the dentin, the enamel will cover your enamel. Then use a protein-fixing product in dentin. This works to prevent expansion - shrinkage causes sharp pain in the teeth. Finally, in case the enamel is completely lost, especially, due to improper brushing, the doctor will use a durable plastic layer to reconstruct a part of the enamel protection layer.

If the above methods are not effective, the doctor may choose to destroy the pulp of the broken tooth. In the case of a fall in the benefit, it is possible to implant gums into the benefit of losing teeth, which helps the teeth to be better covered.
