On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Da Lat nuclear reactor, Vyacheslav Pershukov, Deputy General Director of Rosatom Group, said that in the government agreement between Russia and Vietnam, Rosatom is working with Vietnam to identify the location. and a feasible plan to build a nuclear technology center with an investment of more than US $ 500 million supported by the Russian side. The atomic energy expert of the two sides has developed a research program at these centers, with two bases in Da Lat and Hanoi.

Specifically, at the facility in Dalat, Rosatom proposed building a nuclear reactor including research reactors, facilities and infrastructure to ensure safe operation. It is expected that this furnace has a capacity of 15 MW, if compared, it has a capacity of 30 times larger than the existing nuclear reactor in Da Lat.

"There are studies that take 30 years to complete if the old reactor is used, but the reactor only takes one year to complete ," Pershukov said.

Explaining the choice of a central location right in the center of Da Lat, Dr. Nicolas Arkhangelsky, Rosatom's patent management advisor, said that the geology in Hanoi is more prone to earthquakes, so if built in Hanoi will cost more. In Da Lat there was a team that knew how to operate. Vietnam also has a policy to build more nuclear power plants near the South.

Thus, the start of construction of the facility in Da Lat will soon be implemented when related works such as site clearance, . are completed. If started in 2015 and completed construction in 2020, there will be 400-500 Vietnamese and foreign experts working in two centers. It is conducted in parallel with training more than 240 Vietnamese students at universities and nuclear power facilities under construction in Russia.

Mr. Pershukov said: 'We hope this year will start implementing the project (Nuclear Science and Technology Center) and complete in 2020 and this project will attract about 400-500 people to work '.

Meanwhile, an information confirmed by Rosatom is that Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant will be put into operation from 2023-2024 as planned between the two sides in February 2013.
