According to the researchers, changing the color of the skin is the result of two distinct processes: one is through sunbathing (which increases the amount of melanin in the skin), and the second is through eating vegetables and flowers. fruits (or skin staining with carotene ). In the first two studies, scientists worked with a group of 60 people. These people were treated to 27 faces with skin color related to carotene and melanin content. These colors are divided into two categories, dark and light, depending on how much or how much carotene or melanin is used, and the participants will show which face looks more attractive.
The results of the two studies showed that 86% of participants who loved the skin-colored face exhibited high carotene content, while only 78.5% of those who chose faces with skin color showed high levels of melanin.
The third study compared carotene and melanin, and as a result, 75.9% of the participants selected the skin to show high levels of carotene.
This study published in the Taylor & Francis daily newspaper is an extension of the results of a similar study in 2011 by the University of Nottingham.
