Vietnam actively participates in trade information security group

Patricia M. Sefcik, Acting President of the Personal Information Security Sub-Group of the APEC E-Commerce Steering Group (ECSG) told reporters at the SOM 3 conference that: Vietnam is now a member of the extremely involved in the Trade Information Protection Secretariat of 21 APEC member economies.

Patricia M. Sefcik said that the APEC Trade Information Security Group has only 13 key economies / total 21 participating economies. The goal of the Group has been to try to protect trade information confidentiality for customers and to provide reliable information, while avoiding creating unnecessary barriers to information flow.

In addition to fully implementing the 9 principles of the Group on securing confidential information for customers, the Group also aims to how to fully implement this work in 21 member economies so that consistent with the legal system of member economies. The Group itself has developed a legal framework to protect personal information for its members.

Vietnam has successfully organized a workshop on e-commerce information protection and is actively absorbing the experiences of other economies in the field of trade information security and personal information protection. . Vietnam is also considering to choose for itself the most suitable points in protecting e-commerce information security to work with APEC to study common information security measures in member economies.
