That is the result of research on the impact of IT on the competitiveness of countries by the World Economic Forum (WEF) recently announced and published. The WEF study was conducted for 115 countries and territories around the world, through many factors such as the quality of math and science education, telephone rates and Internet access .

According to this study, the top 5 positions in turn belong to the US, Singapore, Denmark, Iceland, Finland. As for Asia, Singapore is the first, followed by Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan. China ranked 9th and Vietnam ranked 13th (75th in the overall ranking).

From the 5th position in 2004, the US rose to the top in 2005 thanks to the perfection of infrastructure, the development of the business environment and the ability to apply new technologies. WEF economist Irene Mia said: ' America's ability to innovate technology is at the forefront of the world with an increasing quality of education system and increasingly specialized studies ' . In addition, the United States also excelled in capital support for new businesses developing in the technology sector, often with many risks. " The amount of investment in US research and development far exceeds that of other countries, " said Irene Mia.

WEF is a non-profit organization, working for the purpose of global economic development. This organization is known through annual forums in Davos-Switzerland. This is the meeting place for businessmen and national policy makers to discuss world economic issues.
