VNPT upgraded North - South axis road to 40Gbps

On February 27, 2007, the Inter-provincial Telecommunications Company (VTN), a member of Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), implemented the project to upgrade the North-South axis route to 40Gbps.

According to VTN, the project has completed the investment procedures and equipment supply contract. In February 2007, the equipment was delivered to the construction site, expected to be completed by the end of March 2007. VTN has deployed Supervision teams to install equipment in areas. It is expected that by November 2007, the project will be completed and put into operation.

The construction and putting this project into operation will contribute greatly to meeting the increasing demand for the capacity and transmission quality of users. Meet better and better IT and telecommunication infrastructure to serve the socio-economic development of the country, especially the services that need broadband.

This project is worth about VND 180 billion. Nortel is the partner responsible for equipment and design.
