Trends trick users into visiting specially programmed websites to help spread malicious software that is gradually emerging strongly in cyber criminals.

This means the fact that the author of the malware is turning away from the long-running method of distribution - spread through email attachments.

Email security firm BlackSpider Technologies has recorded a drastic drop in the number of virus-containing emails over the period from the beginning of the year to the end of June. June is also the month to set a new record when billion The rate of virus-containing emails accounts for only 0.68 of the total number of emails sent in the month - a decrease of 0.05% compared to May's figure (0.73%).

The total amount of spam in the month also decreased significantly. The number of spam accounts for only 78.1% of the total number of emails sent during the month, while the figure for May is 87.7%.

BlackSpider warns that the shift of the trend of spreading viruses primarily through the web will require a change in security policy.

Enterprises need to upgrade anti-virus email filtering tools, trojans to add web filtering techniques to counteract the above trend.

Statistics for the same time period as security and spam anti-spam SoftScan also produced a trend similar to the BackSpider. SoftScan's figure showed that the number of virus-containing emails only accounted for 0.36% of the total email sent in June, although this month's page had a strong explosion of a new variant of the Bagle virus.

SoftScan claims that the main cause of the decline is due to the summer break in businesses with the arrest of members of the recent M00P cybercrime group.

SoftScan said the top 5 email threats in June included online phishing attacks (48.05%), Netsky virus (16.69%), Mytob (15.05%), Bagle (5.94 %) and Mydoom (3.44%).
