Thus, within 4 years, the revenue of system protection applications will more than double the current level (805 million USD by the end of 2005).
According to the IDC report, the budget for security software, including anti-virus and spam programs, will be affected by strong regional economies such as China and India.
" These will be the countries with the highest demand for security software in the region within the next 5 years ," IDC said. " Great demand in these markets will lead to overall regional growth ."
IDC also predicts that the security market will increase by more than 15% per year on average, from now until 2010.
