3rd Mékong Santé International Scientific Conference

On May 10, Hanoi Medical University opened the 3rd Mékong Santé International Scientific Conference, with the participation of more than 2,000 delegates; including over 160 scientists from 14 countries and territories in continents, on the occasion of celebrating 110 years of establishment.

On May 10, Hanoi Medical University opened the 3rd Mékong Santé International Scientific Conference, with the participation of more than 2,000 delegates; including over 160 scientists from 14 countries and territories in continents, on the occasion of celebrating 110 years of establishment.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Hinh, Rector of Hanoi Medical University said Mékong Santé International Scientific Conference is an initiative of the French Republic and countries of the Mekong sub-region. This conference held at Hanoi Medical University is an important event marking the process of cooperation, development and international integration of the Vietnamese medical sector.

At the Conference, scientists in many fields and majors will have the opportunity to share experiences and work on scientific research, teaching and health care for people in the Mekong sub-region countries as well as other countries in the world .

The third session of the 3rd International Scientific Conference Mékong Santé

The conference took place in 3 days (May 10-12) with 9 sessions including opening session and other seminars such as epidemiology of emerging diseases and HIV / AIDS; describe the causes of death, cancer epidemiology and occupational diseases; medical education - training in preventive medicine and public health; meeting between the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Medicine and the Provincial Preventive Medicine Center; nutrition and food hygiene and safety; teaching HIV in medical university; study health system, health economy and environmental health.

In addition to the plenary session, in the next 2 days, the Conference will have 28 seminars with a total of 452 reports; in which, there are 121 international reports and 331 domestic reports.

The reports in the workshop mentioned many specialized fields from basic medicine, basic to clinical medicine, public health; from traditional medicine to molecular biology. In addition to updating knowledge and sharing results of research and application of science and technology, the conference also introduced achievements and advanced technologies in the field of medicine and pharmacy.

Here, many presentations were paid attention by delegates such as "Overview of emerging diseases in the world" by Professor Saul Tzipori, Tufts University, USA; " The situation of new and re-emerging epidemics in Vietnam" by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tran Hien, National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology; "Research network: One health - One health in the region and in Vietnam" by Stanley Fenwick, Regional Technical Director.
