According to officials from the FDA Food and Drug Administration, one person died and dozens of others contracted the outbreak in 19 states involving bagged spinach.

The cause of this outbreak was reported on Thursday in eight states.

Ohio state health officials reported seven cases - including a serious case - while Kentucky officials were aware of a single case involving a 17-year-old girl being treated at neighboring Tennessee.

On the other hand, there were 21 cases of suspected infection in Wisconsin and 4 of them were in the final stages.
