A fishing boat of the Trident Fisheries Company has just said it caught a giant Rock fish in Alaska waters, with a lifespan of less than 100 years. This 27-kilogram fish, 1.1m in length, is said to be the "oldest creature ever living in the Alaska ocean". Scientists estimate that its lifespan is between 90 and 115 years of age.
The crew said that at the end of March 2007, they had stored a heavy 7.5-ton net with a variety of fish, including 10 fighting fish. Most fish caught are rare fish that live below 640m in the southern waters of Pribilof Island.
After discovering that the ' Lord ' Stone fish has a lifespan of less than 100 years, Alaska Marine Center scientists have opened a lot of experiments and meticulous research.
The age of fish is determined by examination of fish gills and gynecological surgery. These are the parts that record the process of growth and development of fish, thereby calculating the number of years that this fish used to live in the ocean.
Scientist Paul Spencer said that this Giant Rock fish lived 90 to 115 years, a life span far exceeding the average life expectancy of the fighting fish.
Previously, in the Guinness Book of Records, it was once recorded that the largest fighting fish has a length of 1.19m. However, its lifespan has not been able to surpass 100 years as the princess found it.
