China successfully launched a satellite observing the Earth

Xinhua reported that on December 29, China successfully launched its most advanced Earth observation satellite called Cao-4 (Gaofen-4). This is part of China's high-resolution Earth observation project.

According to the Department of Science, Technology, and Defense Industry of China (SASTIND), Truong Chinh-3B boosters carry Cao-4-satellite that has been launched into space from the Tay Xuong satellite launch center in the province of Tu. Xuyen, Southwest China.

The High-4 Satellite will be used for the purpose of supporting the monitoring, forecasting, prevention and remediation of natural disasters.

This is the 222nd time that China launched Truong Chinh rocket, and in 2015 China launched 19 satellite launches successfully.

Unlike Cao-1 and Cao-2-2, placed in a low orbit, about 600-700km away from Earth, Cao-4 is in orbit 36,000km from Earth and moves simultaneously with the Earth.

The High-4 Satellite will be used for the purpose of supporting the monitoring, forecast, prevention and remediation of natural disasters as well as hydro-meteorological forecasts.

The Cao Dung satellite launch project was launched in May 2010 by China and the first satellite - Cao Phan-1 was launched into orbit in April 2013. The goal of this project is to launch 7 high-resolution observation satellites by 2020.
