In the study of Simina Meidani, Director of the Boston Center for Nutrition and Aging, with the participation of 46 people (both male and female between the ages of 20 and 40) were overweight. Before conducting the experiment, people reduced their diet by 30% with low calorie foods.

For 6 months experts have periodically identified the body's immune responses by trying hypersensivity on the skin.

In particular they monitor how diets have affected T cell activity or white blood cells - the basic cells of the immune system in humans. The results show that it is the low-calorie diet that increases the sensitivity of the skin and produces T-cell proliferation.

Thus, scientists have shown that a diet has a good effect of strengthening the immune system's ability to counteract the invasion of bacteria.

Previously similar experiments have only been conducted on animals and this is the first time drawn conclusions on humans.
