Discovered frogs with Pinocchino nose

Scientists have discovered a new species that they named frog

Scientists have discovered a new species that they named 'Pinocchino' frog because of the unusual long nose when they called out to the same type.

A group of international researchers who traveled to Indonesia in the Foja Mountains, happened to come across a frog who was "calmly" sitting on a bag of rice near the campsite.

Upon careful observation, the scientists realized that this was a previously unknown type of long nose frog. When the frog cries, its nose is directed upwards and slightly collapsed when the animal does not work.

Frogs have an incredible long nose.

'We are enjoying lunch and when we look down, we realize that there is a small frog sitting on a rice bag, trying to grab food. Immediately, the reptile experts carefully observed this strange frog, ' recalled Chris Milensky, bird researcher.

The researchers also reported finding the smallest kangaroo, a large curly mouse and a legged gecko with yellow eyes.

The Foja Mountains are located in the western part of New Guinea, part of Indonesia, which has not been noticed by scientists for years. Therefore, the International Conservation Environment team, with the support of the National Geographic Society and the Smithsonian Institution, began the project to explore the area. The results of their 2008 expedition were announced on May 17.

Kristofer Helgen, curator of mammals at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, said one of the most "startling" animals scientists have observed here is the species. Golden feather kangaroo lives on extremely rare plants. Most people think that kangaroos are animals that live only in the Australian plains, but this species is adapted to life in the forest. 'They can jump on trees and run on trees. On the ground, they hop on hopscotch like any other kangaroo, ' Mr. Helgen said.
