On the morning of September 4, people and workers who came to clean up trash at Front Beach on Quang Trung Street, Ward 1 (Vung Tau City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province) discovered a quite large sea turtle dead and drifting. onto the beach.

The sea turtle is in a state of decomposition, more than 1.1m long, 60cm wide with a shell, washed by the waves and lying close to the water's edge. People and workers moved the turtle onto the beach and reported it to the authorities.
According to a Forest Ranger officer, this sea turtle is an adult female, weighing about 80kg, and died many days ago.
The turtle's shell had a long crack running along its body. No other injuries were recorded on the turtle's body and no parts were missing. It is likely that the turtle will be hit by the propeller of a ship or boat while the turtle is swimming, causing the turtle to die.
The authorities made a record of the incident and assigned Vung Tau Urban and Environmental Services Joint Stock Company to bury the sea turtle.
The Southern Institute of Seafood Research took samples to identify this individual sea turtle.
