Discovering rare and precious orchids named in the red book

Quang Tri authorities have just discovered a rare orchid species at the top of Elephant Mountain (1,700 m high), Huong Son commune of Bac Huong Hoa Nature Reserve.

This species usually grows into small dust on loamy soil or on rocks at a height of over 900 m, the body is very short, often submerged underground, oblong leaves, to 22 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, arranged in two rows , sharp-edged head, glossy green color, the upper face has many small, pale green spots. Inflorescences usually have one flower, red stalks, 17-45 cm long, thin, short hairs, bractal leaves (a large leaf, a small, leaf-shaped leaf).

The orchid comedy orchids are greenish purple, the lips are deep-caped, greenish-purple, 4 cm long, greenish-yellow edges, with a few green spots on the front, the inner surface has feathers, the mouth has 4 triangular lobes. Flowers often bloom in January 1-2 on the right spring. In Vietnam, the spread of coils is only found in Lam Dong, Thua Thien - Hue (Bach Ma National Park).
