DoCoMo launches super-fast WiMAX technology
Japan's leading mobile network service provider NTT DoCoMo said it will join hands with broadband network provider ACCA Networks to introduce the new super-fast WiMAX mobile technology market.
Japan's leading mobile network service provider NTT DoCoMo said it will join hands with broadband network provider ACCA Networks to introduce the new "super speed" WiMAX mobile market.
DoCoMo said it had to shake hands with ACCA Networks because the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs currently refused to license WiMAX to 3G mobile network service providers. This is a solution to encourage new telecom carriers.
DoCoMo's next generation WiMAX mobile technology promises 10 times faster data transfer rates than its existing 3G and 3.5G network speeds.
Analysts say the new move of DoCoMo is a strategic step to continue to increase its competitiveness. The next step is to shake hands with ACCA to launch new technology products.
In addition, DoCoMo is currently seeking some new partners.
