On April 16, the city of Dubai, the financial center of the Middle East, was paralyzed due to torrential rain causing flooding throughout the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Data shows that rainfall measured in Dubai in 12 hours has reached nearly 100 mm. According to United Nations data, this number is equivalent to the amount of rain in Dubai for an entire year.
The sudden exposure to heavy rain caused almost the entire city of Dubai to be paralyzed and submerged in water. At Dubai International Airport, the airport also had to stop operating for half an hour and was interrupted many times due to the effects of flooding.

Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates. This area is known to be one of the hottest and driest areas in the world, rarely having rain. Due to low annual rainfall, the infrastructure here does not have enough conditions to withstand heavy rains and flooding. Currently, it is still impossible to estimate the damage caused by the flood, but it certainly has had a significant impact on this wealthy city.
