In fact, today's Western diets have more salt content than before. This affects the health and fitness of future generations, the study said.

The study was tested on previous mice and showed similar results. Mice that eat a lot of salt or do not eat salt at all have a slow reproductive process .

Dori Pitynski, the head of the group of scientists, presented the study in the European Endocrine Society of Ireland, saying that salt is necessary during puberty but excessive use will affect reproductive health .

In addition, eating more salt will increase the risk of stroke, high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends eating only about 5 grams of salt a day for adults.
