Fast food makes you fat

Picture 1 of Fast food makes you fat If you wonder why your waistline keeps growing, don't rush to review the menu, but see how you eat them. People who eat in a hurry have a three-fold risk of being overweight.

Researchers found fast-food habits made weight gain much faster than we thought.

Professor Hiroyasu Iso and colleagues from Osaka University, Japan, conducted research on 3,200 men and women in this country, aged from 30 to 69, from mid-2003 to 2006. The group studied the relationship between eating speed, satiety and overweight.

Participants were asked to fill out an answer to their eating habits. Half of men and 58% of women say they usually eat until they feel full. Less than half of men and one-third of women said they usually eat at a fast rate.

Professor Hiroyasu said the group of people who eat "full and fast" have a higher body weight index. Both men and women in this group are three times more likely to be overweight than those who do not eat fast.

"If you eat slowly, there will be some feedback from the brain that that's enough, and this will help you stop eating before you become full," Professor Iso said. "This is still speculative, but it is worth considering and is in line with modern life."

Dr. David Haslam, clinical director of the British National Obesity Forum, said: "These studies are very helpful because they are not about the causes of gene obesity, which people feel is not possible. What to do, but talk about human behavior ".
