Find children with DNA - tragic things in tears

Seventeen years of DNA testing for hundreds of people, Professor Le Dinh Luong met many complicated relationships, using DNA technology to recognize father - son or brother - brother, but still the largest driving force. long, the company director and some officials were " arrested ".

In a small house located in Vinh Phuc apartment complex (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) decorated like a polyclinic, a man in his 30's who led a 3-year-old child who just walked in. He sat down, hesitantly pulled the ID card and the single card on the table. Professor Luong, founder of the Center for DNA Analysis and Genetic Technology (under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations), read the application and asked: 'You need DNA testing to know if this baby is your own child? '. He nods, his face looks tormented.

It was only after he said: 'Professor, I escaped from my wife. Please give me the secret and give me an accurate result, so I know is this my child? ' Mr. Liang looked straight into his eyes, showing his share, saying: 'I have peace of mind. Even if you put money to ask me to deflect the results, I never did. For me, the truth must be true. '

Looking at the happy face of the professor who has been accustomed to science for ten years, he is more confident, saying: 'Since this boy was born so far, I don't often believe it to be the' product 'of me The reason during the time when we were getting married, my wife still had sex with her ex. The life of my family over the years was extremely terrible ' . His story lasted until it was completely dark.

Two nurses came out, took this father's blood and blood samples, dried them and put them in two envelopes. Mr. Liang directly coded the number on each small envelope, then stuffed two small envelopes into a larger envelope. The father and son of the guest went out, holding the appointment paper 10 days later and returned the results.

The test was conducted at a secret address located in the center of Cau Giay district (Hanoi), where the sample of the father's son's cells would be handled by seven staff in the analysis room.

In the treatment room, there are two PCR machines placed close to the wall. Mr. Luong said: 'PCR is a specific DNA amplifier, the latest one we have just equipped'. He also said that in the past, to 'extract' a gene segment from a pile of samples of millions of cells, the whole machine was used as a mansion. But now just this compact PCR machine can ' filter' the gene segment to select.

He lightly pressed the button, the lid turned on. Inside, 96 small plastic funnels like children's fingers line up evenly. Pulling out a funnel, he said the client's DNA samples after being extracted will be released into each plastic funnel. Each pair of samples for testing must consist of 2-3 samples: father - mother - child or father (mother) - child.

After only 3 hours, the machine was able to produce results . However, he said: 'I have to make a ten-day appointment to give the results, partly because the number of samples needs to be tested today is very much. Partly because the DNA samples that result in children not sharing the same bloodline with a parent or mother have to go back and forth several times to really believe that they are not mistaken . '

During the running process, the gene segments of the client will multiply rapidly. Thanks to the electrophoresis process (separation of long, short gene segments, increased resolution), ' information ' on each selected gene segment will be 'read' and converted to DNA dyeing. Images of gene segments, DNA structures printed on paper for verification, comparisons are called 'gene ' versions.

Different short DNA fragments are clearly visible on ' gene ' versions, which can be distinguished by the naked eye. Accordingly, it is possible to know exactly which child is the 'product' of the father and mother, or only the father, or the mother, or not both of them according to the principle of DNA and genetics.

Mr. Luong said that the 'gene' versions are proof of the truth that nothing can be denied.

After only 3 hours, on the DNA dyeing unit, the youth gene 'e' was shown as a newly washed film. Two DNA columns lined up in parallel with two pink lines are aligned. 'That proves this child is his son' - Mr. Liang pointed to the pink line and concluded.

'Here, this result confirms that this child is not the biological son of a father, a director of a private company in Ho Chi Minh City who just came here to see me ,' he pointed to the ' gene ' plaque . not yet squid, hang over your head, just turn each page and explain it

"Here too, this third pink line is not aligned with the first and second pink lines. It proves that this child is not the biological child of both parents, a couple in Hanoi."

But he insisted 'no matter what the outcome, I still have to tell them the truth. Because first, I have a duty to make them know the truth. Science is to tell the truth. Second, the truth is not hidden forever. '

Luong said recently that both PCR machines had to operate for 24 hours. The reason is that the number of clients seeking to access DNA services is increasing. On average each day the center must perform a DNA test. In particular, the majority of clients are male and most of them result in the same father and son.'It proves the fact that many husbands are suspicious of their wives'. Of course, he disclosed that there are 15-20 cases for every 100 children who are not related by blood.

Drawing in a file cabinet, he said: 'For the past 17 years, having directly received and tested DNA for hundreds of people, I just broke that our modern society is creating relationships. so complicated. For each test case, I collected a left-over life story, sometimes unable to hold back tears, to write a story with 1,001 stories of life '. He said he expected that by the end of 2006, he would gather 1,001 such life stories.

There are many reasons, forcing people to go to his center for testing. For example, at the request of the court. Or in war, brothers, parents, children, grandchildren . dissociate. Now meet again but not sure if it is the same blood and blood. Also in the war, some US, French, and Japanese soldiers had left their children in Vietnam. Now, they need to find their blood.

However, the largest is still the long-distance driving force, the company director and some officials.'Directors often have a lot of secretaries. After a while, the secretaries often bring their children to the brink. No one can say for sure that the child is the director's' consequence ', except for the DNA code' - he said.

And thanks to DNA testing, he once witnessed many 'bosses' in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Nha Trang, Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City . saying: ' So I have to raise this bastard child. ? That is why he had to transfer the laboratory to a secret address, because many guests had pleaded with his staff to give them a false (non-blood) result. On the contrary, many times he also helped them to remove the blackmail scheme of girls.

About the "gene" version, the result is that the child is not the "product" of both parents. He explained that it proved that the children were adopted children, mostly because they were mistakenly given by the hospital. 'Such cases are not less now.'
