Here, Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Director of Quang Nam Department of Health said that the outbreak was reported by village health authorities in Phuoc Loc commune since July 9.7. There are 13 cases, including 8 men and 5 women. Most patients are between 2 and 45 years old. These patients were suspected of having diphtheria with symptoms: fever, swollen lymph nodes, difficulty eating, sore throat, edema .

From 9.7 to 12.7 there were 3 deaths: Ho TN (26 years), Ho TV (17 years), Ho VQ (16 years).

Shortly thereafter, the leaders of Quang Nam Department of Health, Phuoc Son district and the functional forces of the Provincial Preventive Medicine Center, the District Preventive Medicine Center went directly to the epidemic area to learn the situation and take samples. testing, implementing activities to control outbreaks.

Specialized agencies have taken 7 test samples to Nha Trang Pasteur Institute. According to the results of Nha Trang Pasteur Institute, in 7 samples sent for testing, there was only 1 sample positive for diphtheria patients of Ho VB patients (25 years old, resident of village 8B, Phuoc Loc commune). Currently this patient is being isolated for treatment.

The remaining 10 cases being treated in Phuoc Son district, health is now stable and has good developments.
