The earring is created by a piece of enameled gold with decorative bird motifs.

According to the researchers, the earring likely originated in Egypt because of similarities with other crescent-shaped earrings. Nothing like it has ever been found in Scandinavia, and there are only 10-12 of it worldwide.

"Only 10 -12 such earrings are found worldwide. All are in collections in the US, UK or Arab countries. And this is a one-of-a-kind earring." , archaeologist and curator of the National Museum of Denmark, Peter Pentz, told the press.

What's more surprising is that the location where the earring was found was in a field in Bovling near Lemvig, on the Jutland peninsula, Denmark.

One theory is that this jewelry was brought to Jutland by a Dane (Danish) who had explored the Eastern Mediterranean.

The earring was quickly sent to the National Museum of Denmark, which describes it as a world-class archaeological piece, and entered an exhibition showcasing Denmark's largest collection of treasures. from the Viking Age, will be open from 7/12.
