New versions of the ThinkPad X61 and X61s are expected, including laptops and Tablet PCs. Upgrading this feature to these two notebook lines means that users will be expanded, especially business customers.
Lenovo is one of the first OEMs to announce the use of Intel's new mobile platform - Centrino Pro (announced early May 2007) for a number of ThinkPad T and R. models.
In addition to the Centrino Pro platform, new ThinkPad models are also improved on internal antennas, improving the wireless WAN signal quality and wireless broadband.
The new Thinkpad models can connect to 802.11a / b / g wireless LAN and support the new generation wireless standard - 802.11n (experimental).
Specifically, the chip configuration of the X61 has two options: Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0GHz chip, 4MB L2 cache, 800MHz FSB; or T7100 chip: 1.83GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 667MHz FSB.
The X61s uses a Core 2 Duo L7500 chip that consumes less power, with 1.6GHz clock speed, 4MB L2 cache, and 800MHz FSB; or L7300 chip: 1.4GHz, 4MB L2 cache, FSB 800MHZ.
Both the X61 and X61s are equipped with 12.1-inch screens, 4GB of RAM, 160GB SATA hard drives, 3 USB 2.0 ports, supporting both Vista and Windows XP operating systems.
The X61 tablet also has two options: the Core 2 Duo L7500 or L7300, 4GB of RAM, 160GB SATA hard drive, 12.1-inch screen, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Virus or Microsoft operating system support XP Tablet PC.
The Thinkpad X61 and X61s, and the X61 Tablet PC are priced at $ 1,484, $ 1,474, and $ 1,779, respectively.
