Microsoft expects to enable a new security feature in IE by default to prevent the possibility of hacking into the Web browser.
According to the software vendor, DEP / NX "prevent data execution" and "non-executable" features (Data Execution Prevention / No Execute) will be enabled by default in IE8 when the browser works in the environment. Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.
Microsoft recognizes that the DEP / NX will help eliminate many of the security vulnerabilities that arise in IE. Previously this feature was already in IE7 and was turned off by default because of incompatibility.
With the latest security changes in IE8, this Web browser can prevent applications or services from executing code from non-executable memory areas. When used in conjunction with other security engines, DEP / NX will reduce the consequences of many attacks on the browser.
According to Microsoft program director Eric Lawrence, the DEP / NX protection will be deployed for IE and all add-ons that the browser loads.
