NASA discovered giant ice on Mars
NASA has announced a concussion discovery, when they found giant ice sheets at the northern pole of Mars.
According to the Express, a landmark study by NASA discovered a giant block of ice "locked" under the surface of Mars . This study comes from the radar information obtained after NASA's Mars Explorer returned. The descriptive signals show that ancient ice sheets are buried deep below the surface, at the northern pole of Mars .

According to NASA's report, the amount of stratified ice is very significant. If the ice is melted, the water will form a large pool throughout Red Planet, with a water depth of about 150 cm. An extremely significant and meaningful finding.
Dr Stefano Nerozzi of the Institute of Geophysics (University of Texas), the lead author of the new study, said: "We were surprised to find so much ice here."
This increases the likelihood that the newly discovered area will become the third largest reservoir on Mars, after the previously found ice caps.
NASA believes that ice layers form on Mars during previous glaciers and are protected from warming of solar radiation by layers of sand covering their surfaces. But if most of the water is locked at the poles of Mars, having enough water near the equator will become difficult.
Research has implications for not only Mars today, but also the climate of the red planet in the past. Because all these conditions will create life, similar to the life we know on Earth.
Earlier this year, NASA explorers found potential building blocks of life in an ancient Mars lake. Here, organic molecules have been found in rocks dating to 3.5 billion years old, in the Gale crater.
