National Nuclear Safety Council held the first session

On July 11 in Hanoi, the National Nuclear Safety Council launched and held its first meeting. Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan, Chairman of the Council chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, the Council members focused on discussing and commenting on the Council's working regulations; operational plans, important and urgent tasks from now to the end of 2012 and in 2013 in accordance with the Atomic Energy Law.

Policies and measures to ensure nuclear safety in the use of atomic energy and the preparation of safety assessment of nuclear power plant locations are also carefully discussed by Council members.

The standing body of the Council proposed to develop a national action program on ensuring radiation and nuclear safety by 2020 to submit to the Prime Minister for approval in 2012, including some important policies. on safety in service of the national nuclear power program; At the same time, he proposed the work plan of the Council to handle intermediate reports of the site survey consultant and set up an investment project for construction of Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant and Ninh Thuan 2 .

The members of the Council listened to representatives of Vietnam Electricity Group to report on the progress of the site survey and the preparation of the feasibility study report of the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project; representatives of the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety (Ministry of Science and Technology) report on the requirements relating to the construction of safe infrastructure for the national nuclear power program.
