According to WWF (World Wildlife Fund) report, more than 123 new species were discovered in Borneo forest since February 2007. This is part of a joint effort of the countries with common interests on the island to establish a protection area of 220,000 km 2 of tropical forests.

The newly discovered flowerpecker is named with the eye part that has the same advice as glass. They have a gray body with white arcs above and below the eyes. They live mainly in the high canopy.
With a length of up to 0.5 m, the species of Phobaeticus becomes the longest insect in its family. They are found at Gunung Kinabau Park, Sabah. Only 3 individuals of this species have been found.
The first frog, about 7 cm long, is the first frog with no lungs. They breathe through the skin. This makes their bodies flatter, creating more contact surfaces and absorbing more oxygen. The aerodynamic shape helps them swim more skillfully in fast-flowing streams in Borneo's Kalimantan rain forest.
With 8 fins, 3.6 cm long, the newly discovered fish named Eirmotus Insignis. They live in warm, shallow springs that flow slowly in the rainforest, living mainly in the center of Borneo.
The red-brown ants Lordomyrma was discovered in 2008. At that time, 7 individuals were obtained from a pile of leaves in the Sabah rainforest, Borneo.
Scientists have discovered a new freshwater pink shrimp, the scientific name is Macrobrachium in the Keilan River, located in the East Kalimantan region, the heart of Borneo forest. This new shrimp species is quite small, only about 1 cm long; they are different from the types with the last name in the number of teeth.
