This is because arginine stimulates hormonal production associated with the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
The new experiment was carried out by scientists from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) in collaboration with a research team at the University of Cincinnati (USA), according to New Kerala (India).
Experts found arginine amino acids significantly improved glucose metabolism in both sick (insulin-sensitive) mice and obese (insulin-resistant) mice.
The lead researcher, Dr. Christoffer Clemmensen of the University of Copenhagen, said the amino acids are as effective as many drugs currently available for type 2 diabetics.
