Lobster is already an expensive seafood and it is not easy to catch a rare lobster. But Gary Ely, who lives in the UK, has had a unique chance to catch a fancy blue lobster. In particular, the probability of catching such a shrimp is very small.

Due to the mutation of the gene, Loui has a different color than other lobsters.

Reportedly, Mr. Gary caught the shrimp during a fishing trip in the island of Mersea, Essex, England. However, it was not until compared to other lobsters that he realized its strange blue color. Therefore, he decided not to eat it but gave his daughter Stacey the right to decide.

Later, Stacey named the shrimp Loui and took it to a marine biology center hoping it would be raised there. Experts say Loui is a genetically modified lobster that increases his body's production of a special protein. It is this protein that, when combined with astaxanthine , forms a crustacyanin complex and produces its green color. The probability of encountering an unusual lobster is 1/2 million.

Currently, Loui is isolated during 30 days to ensure that there is no disease that can spread to other organisms. Next, Loui will be released with other lobsters at the center.
