Olive oil helps older people reduce their risk of stroke
A French study published on June 16 confirms an olive-rich diet that helps older people not only reduce the risk of heart disease but also stroke.

Scientists conducted a study with 7,625 people over 65 years in France for 5 years. Diets and other factors related to their lifestyle are recorded.
After conducting the analysis, taking into consideration other eating habits, levels of exercise and major factors causing stroke, the scientists concluded that people who regularly use oil Olive can reduce the risk of stroke by 41% compared with those who never use this oil.
The research team leader Cecilia Samieri of neurology at INSERM France's National Research Institute confirmed that these results suggest that high levels of olive oil can protect older people from the risk of stroke.
Samieri's team also took blood samples from 1,245 other adults, measuring oleic acid levels - acids found in olive oil as well as oils extracted from certain fruits. The conclusion is that the risk of stroke in the group of people with the highest oleic acid concentration is less than the group with the lowest oleic acid concentration of 73%.
