Security firm Panda Software has discovered an extremely dangerous type of adware that could allow hackers to track users' browsing progress.

The above adware infects a user's PC when they access fake websites that provide adult content controlled by hackers.

This adware intrusion method is as follows: It masquerades as an ActiveX Control called ImageAccesActiveXObject, giving a message asking users to install it to see the image they just clicked on.

Agreeing to install an ActiveX Control means that users create conditions for adware to be installed on the system. To avoid the user's attention when the installation is completed, it also shows ActiveX message that has been successfully installed and displays the image for viewers.

Users can refer to the infection method via a video posted by Panda as proof.

" In the past, we have only discovered the adware form of video codec fraud, but there has never been an adware profile masquerading as an ActiveX control for photo viewing. This is a trick for new hackers. that they are installing a legitimate tool , "said Luis Corrons - Technical Director of PandaLabs.

Once successfully installed adware will be user to a page filled with pornographic images. Meanwhile, it downloads more malicious code about infected PC. The main goal is to allow hackers to monitor all Internet activity of infected PC users.
