Qualcomm (the world's leading processor and CDMA technology company) agrees to fund a part of the funding and sends experts to Vietnam to transfer technology to the Micro Design Research and Training Center Circuit (ICDREC) of National University of Ho Chi Minh City in the field of microchip, with the spirit of "giving the whole brain".

Synopsys Company (USA) - one of the leading companies in the world on IC design support software for VNU HCMC design software of Synopsys. The software is worth about 1 million USD to help VNU implement a pilot project to build its core in the field of IC design.

ICDREC is the first center of Vietnam established to promote the IC design field - is currently implementing a startup project: ' Research and design IP core for RISC Chip 8 bit SigmaK3 ' chip (chip Multipurpose processor for electronic, automatic and telecommunication devices.

Along with the meaningful help of Qualcom, Synopsys, ICDREC is sponsored by many domestic and foreign investors to implement this topic. In the coming time, ICDREC will export IP (intellectual property) design to the world market. Therefore, in addition to perfecting the technology, ICDREC will continue to invest in standard IP, which is granted quality certificates by international organizations.

According to Mr. Bui Manh Hai, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, said in the sponsorship session (November 10): Domestic and foreign companies finance funding, human resources and technology in the field of IC design for ICDREC of VNU-HCM is very meaningful. Vietnam has joined the WTO, developing areas that require high technology to be necessary .

Currently the IC design industry in Vietnam is scarce. Renesas Vietnam alone needs 1,000 engineers until 2020, but only 100 engineers are recruited. This amount is even more needed when Vietnam has entered the WTO. ICDREC will recruit students to train IC design experts with the standards of final year students in Electronics and Telecommunications in the coming time.
